School Health Services
Aplington - Parkersburg School District nursing staff are here to be the eyes and ears for parents/guardians when your children are at school. We are grateful we have the opportunity to be involved in each of the student's lives. With that, we value their health and well-being. Having good health is optimal for a positive learning environment!
Sending Home and Staying Home
As important as it is to be at school, it is equally important to know when to stay home from school when one is feeling ill. Knowing when to keep your child home from school is a difficult decision. We ask you keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following :
~Fever (children may return after 24 hrs fever free without use of fever reducing medication)
~Vomiting and/or diarrhea (may return after 24 hrs of last episode)
~Diagnosed cases of communicable diseases such as pink eye and strep throat.
~Rash that is oozing or has fluid filled blisters present
Please contact us with any questions.
